When is the PSTN switch off happening? In 2025, the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) is being switched off by BT Openreach. This means everyone across the UK, including businesses, currently using PSTN-based services will need to upgrade to a new service ahead of this point.
This means that ALL PHONE LINES with phone numbers and telephones attached directly to the sockets will stop working.They will all need to be converted to an internet based phone line and telephone if you want them to continue and you want to keep the number associated with them.
Any remaining ISDN business services will also need to be turned off at the same time.
